I’ve been going to church all my life but I don’t remember when or where I first encountered God.  There have been times of moving away from him – and times of moving closer. It’s never been a static relationship; it still isn’t.

Throughout my churchgoing life, I have been part of a church in decline.  For many Christians this seems to be a time of despondency; there seems little we can do to change things.  But it’s also possible to see this as a time of exciting possibilities.  God is always on the move, always involved in our lives and our world.

I’ve called this blog Meristem as meristem cells are the part of the plant that keeps growing.  They are places of possibilities.
